Employer Identifier

The Payroll Integrations System’s representation of your engagement with an employer in our system. You will provide the identification that your system uses to uniquely identify an employer. For example, the employer’s FEIN, or a UUID issued by your system.

Employer Invite

An invitation sent to an employer to create an account on the Payroll Integrations System and establish a Connection between their Payroll Platform instance and the Payroll Integrations System. You will then be able to access their payroll and employee data using the Employer Identifier you provided as part of the invite.

Pay Code

A value representing a classification of earning, deduction, or memo on an employee’s payroll platform. Pay codes sometimes have custom values or predefined values for a payroll platform.

Pay Component

The Payroll Integration Systems standardized list of what pay codes functionally indicate, utilizing our “pay code to pay component mapping”. Your system will want to utilize the Pay Components instead of the raw Pay Codes. Pay Components have three tier structure,
  • Classification - Indicates Earning/Deduction/Tax
  • Category - Functional meaning
  • Sub-category - More specific functional meaning Ex. pay code ‘401k-pre-CUSTOMTEXT’ becomes the pay component with sub-category = ‘401k PreTax’ - within the ‘Pretax’ Category - within the ‘Deduction’ Classification

Payroll Platform

An external company that we integrate with through an API. A payroll platform is the source of employee census and payroll data.

Payroll Connection

An entity representing a single API connected employer on an external payroll platform and the Payroll Integrations platform. An employer may have multiple connections to multiple payroll platforms.

Payroll Record

A specific payroll run executed by the payroll platform and pulled by the Payroll Integrations System.
